George Clare
George is the protagonist of the story and the main suspect in his wife's death. When George arrives at his farmhouse, he is shocked to find that his wife has been brutally killed. Unfortunately, the authorities are after him because he is accused as the main suspect in the murder of his wife.
Catherine
Catherine is the wife of George Clare, and they move together to the old farmhouse to start a life there. Later, the lifeless body of Catherine is found by her husband when she arrives home.
Franny
Franny is the daughter of George and Catherine. Franny is a small girl when her parents move to the old farmhouse.
Cole
Cole is an orphan who once babysat Franny. When Franny is frustrated with life, she returns to the old farmhouse and comes together with him. They start developing a close connection.
Hale
Hale is the initial occupant of the old farmhouse. He killed his wife and committed suicide.
June Pratt
June Pratt is George and Catherine's neighbor. June does not have children, but she has spent most of her life raising dogs. June is the first person to suspect that something bad had happened in George's house, and it later was revealed that Catherine had been brutally murdered.
Joe Pratt
Joe is the husband of June, and he joins his wife to see what has gone wrong in their neighbor's house.
Travis Lawton
Travis Lawton is an acquaintance of George Clare.
