Creative Writing
Objective:
Students will write an imitation of one of Rich's in order to better understand her poetic choices.
Common Core Standards:
CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.11-12.3.D; CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.11-12.5

Ask students to write a pastiche of one of the poems from today's reading. Give them 20-30 min of in-class writing and brainstorming time, then use the remaining 15 minutes to workshop their poems in pairs.
