A Slight Trick of the Mind Summary

A Slight Trick of the Mind Summary

Mitch Cullin, an American writer, wrote his book A Slight Trick of the Mind, published in 2005. The story begins in the year of 1947, when the great detective Sherlock Holmes now lives in a secluded farmhouse located in Sussex. Ninety-three years old, Sherlock Holmes retired long ago from his service. He lives in the farmhouse with his young son and a housekeeper.

Sherlock is a loving father for his son, Roger. Mrs. Munro takes good care of Sherlock and Roger. Sherlock follows a regular routine of writing journals and remembering the past in which he used to solve mysterious cases.

At this stage of Sherlock's life, when he looked back, he found that he was known for his sharp mindedness. But in the present situation, his memory weakens day by day. Sherlock wants to find some answers about his love and his life. But he realizes that the mind looses its abilities and doesn't remain the same what he had at his youth.
