Objective:
Students will be able to conduct a close reading of the text and discuss their analysis.

Structure:
In order to conduct a class-wide close reading, have two student volunteers read aloud the same selection from the text: the part of the story in which Zlateh and Aaron are sheltering in the hay stack. As a class, discuss any differences you may have noticed between the two readings. How does hearing the text of the story read aloud change your experience of it?
