The narrator is confident that some critics, no doubt, will be angered by the idea of writing a historical book so soon after the end of the world conflict. In the end, it was only twelve years after the announcement of t he American Victory Day in the United States and only ten years since the liberation of the last world power- China. Considering that most people think the Chinese Victory Day to be an official date of the end of the war, it is impossible to talk about a real retrospective. Time is both an ally and an enemy for a generation, which has struggled and suffered to give us this decade of the peace. Peace is not eternal all over the world. Eventually, it will end and the war will begin.

Grover Carlson means that everything must be under control, as this quote indicates. Is it possible to solve poverty? Can you ever solve crime? Can you ever solve many diseases, unemployment, wars or other social problems? Of course, it is impossible. The whole government can do is to keep everything under control, giving people the opportunity to live in peace. It is also impossible to solve the war with zombies. No one is able to kill all infected people. You just need to keep them under control, build special closed towns and protect the whole world from these beasts. It is not cynicism. It is maturity.

It is hard to even believe that the infection, which is called “zombification”, spreads. Many of the characters of this book also do not want to put fait in this “nonsense” . Not because the government tells them so. It also depends on the sixth sense. This is neither stupidity nor weakness. It is just a property of human nature. No one should be blamed for disbelief. Everything comes down to the birth factor in different environments. All people live in constant fear. It is a part of their identity, part of their mind-set and it has taught them through horrific trial and error to be on their guard. Zombies have destroyed the trust and faith of many people
