Wine Bowl Symbols, Allegory and Motifs

Allegory for art (writing) and its impact

The entire poem is an allegory for art, for writing a poem. It described the process of art creation. The poet will rise from her troth with the dead which means that she hasn't been writing for a long time but now is the time to start again. She will sweeten her bread and cup with a gift meaning that she is being inspired again and will use her gift again. The poet will make a wine bowl for red and white wine which means that she will gather her thoughts and process them and then she will start pouring wine into the bowl, pouring the song of wine which means that she will start writing her poem. Finally, that song will impact lives of everyone who hears it which is artists' greatest wish. Every artist wants their art to be seen, heard, felt by as many people as possible and to have a life-changing impact on them.

Wine symbol

Wine is a symbol that represents the poem, the song that will inspire everyone and everything that hears it. The song of wine will change lives of those who hear it, making a deep-sea fisher forsake his nets and turn to wheat-sheaves and loam, wanderers to go back home; the poem will make people get out of their usual routine to try something new, to be inspired.

Motif of nature

Nature as a motif is an everlasting source of poetic inspiration where one can find beauty every time one looks at it. It is a powerful tool because everyone relates to the beauty of nature; everyone finds beauty in the nature.
