Ways of Seeing Episode 1
The miniseries that started it all: before it was a book, Ways of Seeing premiered on the BBC. Each program in the four-part series offered a fresh spin on different concepts from art history, from the female nude to the use of oil paint to depict social status. The first episode, however, was perhaps the most notable: it distills complex ideas about authorship and reproducibility first set forth by Walter Benjamin in the 1930s, making esoteric theoretical knowledge easily accessible to the public.
