Other works about the relationship between film and consciousness include the works of French theorists such as Jean Baudrillard and Guy Debord. The former's Simulacra and Simulation and the latter's Society of the Spectacle are both influences on Mulvey. Mulvey herself revisited her argument years later in the article "Afterthoughts on 'Visual Pleasure and Narrative Cinema," and several theorists have also built on her findings. Most recently, Mulvey has considered the role home video plays in constructing audiences, in her book Death 24x a Second: Stillness and the Moving Image.
