    Character Analysis and Interview

    Kind of Activity:

    Group Work

    Objective:

    Students will use textual evidence to create a character analysis

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.11-12.1, CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.SL.11-12.1.C

    Structure:

    Have the students identify all the main characters and make a list on the board. Break the class into small groups and assign each group one of the characters to analyze (Jugga, Iqbal, Hukum Chand, Malli, Bhai Meet Singh, Banta Singh, Imam Baksh (include the sub-inspector or Nooran as needed)). Instruct the groups that they must keep their assigned character secret from the rest of the class.
