Towers of Midnight Symbols, Allegory and Motifs

The strange wall around the camp

The strange wall around the camp discovered by Perrin symbolizes the impossibility of his mission. Perrin is training to fight his enemies, but while training with his troops, they discover a bizarre wall around the camp which signifies that their mission of killing the Slayer is impossible. Meanwhile, they divert their attention when they realize that Nyanaeve has healed from her madness

Rand al’Thor as a symbol of intrepidness and hope

The author depicts Rand as a tactical character who passes many obstacles to attain what he believes in. For instance, when he returns from the Dragon mount, his existence makes trees flower and produce fruits. The blossoming of trees and the bearing of fruits symbolize hope for his troops in winning the battles ahead of them.

The Dreamspike

The dreamspike is emblematically used by the author to embody the impediments encumbering Perrin and his troops from travelling to scuffle Slayer. While travelling to fight Slayer, Perrin and Hopper discover Morgase’s exact individuality, which gives them hope of accomplishing their mission of bringing down Slayer.

The Black Tower

The Black Tower symbolizes the dark forces that most characters are fighting. Elayne and Egwene are doing their best to rescue prisoners in the Black Tower. The forces of The Black Tower are clandestinely converting Ases Sedai and Asha’man to a silhouette. On the other hand, Mat tries to free Moiraine from the Black Tower, where she is held captive.
