    Classwide Discussion

    Objective:

    Students will be able to interpret the behavors of the character and discuss the concrete aspects of a theme (determinism) in the story.

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.CCRA.R.3 ; CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.CCRA.R.5

    Structure:

    As a class, make a list of the events, including the trivial and the tragic, that transpire during this section of the story. Begin with the man packing his pipe and end with him standing and looking at the mantle of snow over his fire.

    Chart these events on a spectrum, with the left being trivial and the right being tragic.
