Lightning and Thunder
Because he is the God of Lightning and Thunder, there is naturally a substantial amount of imagery surrounding lightning and thunder in the film. Specifically, lightning and thunder imagery become more common as Thor grows closer to a fight with evil forces. Mjölnir, Thor's hammer, allows him to summon lightning, also cluing viewers into Thor's state of mind.
Asgard
The Kingdom of Asgard itself is depicted as being serene and almost ethereal. In comparison to Earth, it is a place of immense wealth and beauty. Everywhere viewers look in Asgard, they see wealth, power, and beauty. The imagery of Asgard underscores just how much of a fish out of water Thor will be after he is banished to Earth, where people live very different lives to those in Asgard.
The Bifrost Bridge
The Bifrost Bridge, which connects Asgard to other worlds, is depicted as a radiant, multi-colored bridge with seemingly limitless power to do both good and bad. Although it is a literal bridge, it is also a metaphorical bridge that connects the divine with the seemingly mundane.
