The Zoo Story Lesson Plan

Bringing in Technology

Throughout the study of At Home at the Zoo, students with disabilities should have the option of using dictation software for writing assignments, and text-to-speech software for reading assignments, or any other ADA-mandated technological accommodations.

Students may form small groups and produce their own short YouTube video performances of The Zoo Story, as in the Day One Classroom Activity "The Zoo Story Close Reading."

Students may integrate technology (such as video-editing software) into presentations with visual and/or audio components, as in the Day One Classroom Activity, "Other Peoples’ Stories."

Students may adapt their creative pieces into short YouTube videos or record them...
