The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar and Six More Background

The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar and Six More is a collection of short stories written by notable children’s author, Roald Dahl. The book was published in 1977 by publishing house, Jonathan Cape. Quentin Blake, frequent collaborator of Dahl’s, did the illustrations for the book.

The six stories in the book are: ‘The Boy Who Talked with Animals’, ‘The Hitch-Hiker’, ‘The Mildenhall Treasure’, ‘The Swan’, ‘The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar’, ‘Lucky Break’ and ‘A Piece of Cake’.

Despite the fact that Dahl is most well-known for his children’s stories, this anthology is aimed at an older target audience. It covers major topics such as WWII and the Roman Empire.
