    Why are the Young Celts against Bedwyr? Why do they want him removed from the Kingdom?

    The Young Celts are against Bedwyr because they are jealous of the influence he has over King Arthur. The two have been friends for years and Arthur relies on Bedwyr’s experience and intelligence to help him run the Kingdom. The Young Celts see Bedwyr as an impediment for them to advance in the Kingdom. They want to be Arthur’s confidant and resent Bedwyr’s easy manner with the King and Queen Guinevere.

    How does the suspected death of King Arthur affect the Kingdom? What is the reaction of Mordred and Queen Guinevere?

    The suspected death of King Arthur is dangerous for the Kingdom. Arthur’s enemies would start to encroach on the Kingdom as soon as they hear of his death. Arthur and Mordred have made plans in case of his death. Mordred begins to implement these plans upon hearing of his suspected death. Mordred and Guinevere are shocked by Arthur’s death. Guinevere pulls away from the Kingdom leaving Mordred to take over. She does not see herself as Queen without Arthur and does not want to insinuate herself in matters of the Kingdom. Mordred wants her help, but understands her view.

    How does fate affect King Arthur and Mordred’s relationship? Why can they not escape their fate?

    The prophecy proclaimed at the conception of Mordred hangs over King Arthur and Mordred’s relationship. Arthur cannot forget that his son will harken his death. Mordred attempts to fight against the prophecy by always doing what is best for his father and the Kingdom. Arthur’s doubting of his son leads the prophecy to fruition. Mordred’s attempts to fight against the prophecy makes it inevitable. By having a close relationship and working closely together, the two make the clash between them an epic battle. They are swept by fate into the battle that leads to both of their deaths.
