    Can Kids Change the World?

    Kind of Activity:

    Classwide Discussion

    Objective:

    Students will learn how children also fought for equality alongside adults.

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.SL.8.1

    Structure:

    The fight for civil rights didn’t just include adults. In this activity, students will learn how Black children also fought to make their communities more just and inclusive.

    Lead a brief class discussion on whether the students believe that kids can change the world. The students should offer an explanation for their responses and provide examples when possible.
