    Objective:

    Students will discuss, analyze, and write about the meaning and significance of epigraphs throughout the book.

    Structure:

    Many books include epigraphs, which are quotes or phrases from another source set at the beginning of the text. Wilkerson, however, uses epigraphs before each section and chapter.
