Reverend Robert Lee
He is the main protagonist of the story. He is known as the “charming and God-fearing” vicar of Nibbleswicke who also suffers from dyslexia since childhood. Despite knowing how to read and write, he still suffered from a rare disease known as, Back-to-Front Dyslexia, which made him say words in reverse. This gives him a lot of anxiety of taking on the role of the Vicar.
Miss Arabella Prewt
She is noted as being one of the most devout and wealthiest supporters of the Church of Nibbleswicke. The vicar tries to get on her good side in order to get a large donation from her, but instead ends up offending her when he calls her Miss Twerp instead.
Mrs. Purgativa
She is a member of the parish and is befuddled by the sermons the Vicar gives. When she asks the Vicar how much alcohol one should entertain, he tells her that she must “pis, pis, pis’, instead of ‘sip, sip, sip’, which makes her think he is unfit for his role.
