Close Reading: The Parable

Objective:

Conduct a close reading of the text and discuss your analysis.

Structure:

Have a student volunteer to read the parable aloud to the class. Then, have a second student volunteer to read. As a class, discuss any differences you may have noticed between the two readings. How does hearing the parable read aloud change your experience of it? Students need not focus solely on analysis of the parable; they should also consider how it made them feel.
