While "The Story of Sinuhe" is respected as one of the great works of ancient Egyptian literature, it is only one of many still existing from the time. Students might also seek out "The Tale of the Eloquent Peasant," "The Tale of the Doomed Prince," and "The Maxims of Ptahhotep." Other ancient narratives to consider include the Mesopotamian epic of Gilgamesh and the biblical narrative of Joseph recorded in Genesis 30-47, both of which have similar plot points to "The Story of Sinuhe."
