Although Gösta appears to be an antagonistic character after leading the uprising, in an ironic twist of fate he becomes good.

Margareta

Margareta was once a wealthy estate owner, but after being cast away from the estate she ironically becomes a beggar.

A Guest

Gösta is rescued by Margareta from a life of ruin, and as such we might expect him to show her some respect. However, he actually leads an uprising leading to her departure.

The Cavaliers

The Cavaliers take over thinking they will be successful in running the estate. However, under their control it descents into ruin.

Sintram

Sintram offers the men an ironic pact, knowing full well that they will fail.
