Is the imagery of hearing predominant in The Playmaker by Thomas Keneally?
The annotations of the British tyranny portrays a play within a play in which the imagery of hearing becomes prevalent. The dramatist reads the directions to his actors since they are not able to read by themselves. During the reading of the stage directions, the sense of hearing is depicted to the reader. It is however ironic that the actors are not able to read or write their British mother tongue.

How does Thomas Keneally use the character, Mary, to fetch out the literary device irony of the girlfriend?
Baker has a forceful esteem towards Mary because he sees her as honest, pretty and lovable being. However, it is ironic that Mary's physical appearance contradicts her inner deeds. She is a paltry thief and she extends this behavior to Baker since she steals him from another woman. Later, it also becomes ironic when Baker leaves Mary for Europe.

Which theme is most progressive in The Playmaker by Thomas Keneally?
The theme of Evil and Crime is interchangeable throughout the novel. Mary is a petty thief despite her marvelous look and attractiveness. Baker does not realize easily that the woman he adores is a thief. She proves her pettiness in thievery when she steals Baker from another woman. The narrator says that by design there is no Australian who is guiltless since most of the, have flaws.
