The Piano Lesson Lesson Plan

Bringing in Technology

Throughout the study of The Piano Lesson, students with disabilities should have the option of using dictation software for writing assignments, and text-to-speech software for reading assignments, and any other ADA-mandated technological accommodations.

In the Day 1 activity, "The N-Word," the Day 2 activity, "History Lesson: Slavery," and the Day 4 activity, "Comparing Productions," students watch videos on YouTube.

In the Day 2 activity, "From Paintings to Plays," students use Google Images to search for an inspirational painting or sculpture.

In the Day 3 activity, "Lymon's Blog," students imitate blog posts and use Google Images.
