The Pale Blue Eye Irony

The Pale Blue Eye Irony

The paradox of the current heads of the armed forces

The West Point Military is struck by a weird murder of one of its cadets, Leroy Fry. The murder of Leroy is mysterious because his heart is missing from the body. The main paradox is that the heads of the armed forces in the military cannot investigate this murder. Interestingly, they turn to the help of Lander, a retired detective who has lung problems. Lander takes up the role of solving the mysterious death of Leroy despite knowing that his health is compromised.

The reputation of the academy

The military academy is one of the most respected institutions, especially after earning the honor of permanence and acquiring worthy friends. Consequently, the academy's reputation is high because of its ability to defend its cadet corps throughout the training season. Satirically, the academy's reputation is abruptly tainted when Leroy is murdered, and the heads of the institution cannot comprehend the mystery behind that bizarre.

The paradox of Poe

Poe is the most undisciplined cadet in the academy. For instance, he misses parades and guard mounting, and he intentionally disobeys the spirit of mild insolence. Ironically, Lander finds Poe to be an intelligent person who can help him investigate Leroy's mysterious death. Poe has inborn intelligence, and he is quick in mastering and spying, which makes him a vital asset of the academy despite being a crook who does not follow the basic rules of the institution.
