What are the biggest differences between the book and the movie?
Some students may mention the physical attributes of the characters, since Hinton spends so much time describing the boys' looks. Others may note the relative insignificance of Sodapop in the film, Randy's less significant role, or that less time is spent on Ponyboy's illness and recovery. Everyone should observe the very different beginning, and the fact that in the film it is clear from the inception that this is a story Ponyboy is writing.
