The Other Wes Moore Background

The Other Wes Moore Background

The Other Wes Moore is both a New York Times Bestseller and a Wall Street Journal Bestseller that was published in 2011 about two men who are both named Wes Moore. The story follows the author and his life, which is the first Wes Moore. This Wes Moore becomes a famous and successful writer, while the other Wes Moore ends up having to spend his life in prison.

The author, who is the first Wes Moore, is an African American CEO, author, social entrepreneur, producer and Army veteran. He got into contact with the other Wes Moore through his brother, who was also sentencing a time in prison together with the other Wes Moore. The book analyzes which decisions each of them had to take to get where they ended up, as well as how their lives easily could have been reversed as young black American men, as they have more in common than just their names.
