Michel Foucault
The only character and narrator in this book is the author and French philosopher Michel Foucault. Foucault's goal is to find and clarify the origins of the human sciences. He sees all the sciences as erupting from three different aspects of human nature, namely "life, labour, and language." This develops further into biology, economics, and linguistics.
