Objective:

Students will write a newspaper article responding to the novel's events.

Structure:

For this activity, students will prepare a newspaper report on the sequence of events that took place during The Nickel Boys. It should be noted that students are expected to incorporate some knowledge of the characters that a reporter wouldn't necessarily have, such as various moments of foreshadowing and symbolism. Students should also incorporate their literary knowledge of the work into their reports.
