    Interview A Character

    Kind of Activity:

    Group Work

    Objective:

    Students will improvise an interview with one of the novel's characters.

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-Literacy.SL.9-10.1

    Structure:

    For this activity, students will work in pairs. Each student will select their favorite character (living or dead) from the novel and prepare to be interviewed as that character, with their partner acting as the interviewer. Each pair will have the opportunity to present their interview in front of the class, and students will switch roles halfway through. For instance, Student A selects Tom, while Student B selects Maggie. Student A will interview "Maggie" first, and...
