The London Merchant Irony

The Murderer

When George murders his own uncle, the injured man begins to pray for his nephew and for the murderer. Ironically, they are the same person.

Sarah

Sarah is a deceitful and cunning character, manipulating George and ultimately convincing him to steal and kill his own uncle. At the end of the play, Sarah denies any responsibility for the crimes.

George

George's kindness and agreeable nature essentially lead to his demise. For example, he believes Sarah when she tells him that she is homeless when this is clearly not true.
