In this story, Snorri and his wife throw a house-warming party and are concerned only with showing off their new home and trying to impress other people. The falseness of their motivations and desperation to please others negatively impacts their relationship.

In this well-known story, the protagonist is a mother who is expected to sacrifice all for her children. In the end, she even sacrifices her heart and brain for her children.

The Wife from "The Lodger"

The nameless protagonist of "The Lodger" is a housewife from Iceland. One day, while her husband is at work, a strange man shows up at the house and acts like a lodger. She is disturbed by his behavior and then becomes increasingly worried about her husband's behavior.
