Noni is more sympathetic to the insurgency than her sister. The insurgency makes Lola feel vulnerable, she thinks the Nepalis will come after wealthy people such as her and her sister, which puts her on defense. Noni points to history, saying that Nepalis were first thrown out of Assam, then Meghalaya, and now the Bhutanese King seems to be "growling" against them as well.
