To understand the basic mechanics of theater-making.

Structure:

First, stand in front of the class and ask them to imagine that they are an audience, and you are an actor on stage. Explain that what you are describing is a proscenium stage; actors on one side, audience on the other. This is how Iceman is written to be staged.

Next, ask the students to move the desks into a circle around the edge of the room. Move into the middle and begin speaking. This is staging in the round.
