    Choosing Tributes

    Objective:

    Examine the system by which tributes are chosen for the Hunger Games.

    CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.CCRA.R.1, CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.CCRA.R.7

    Structure:

    As Katniss correctly observes, the poor are much more likely to be selected at random that the well-off, because poorer children often exchange additional entries for the necessary resources to feed themselves or their family. Discuss this system. You may ask your students the following questions:
