Bringing in Technology

Throughout the study of The Grapes of Wrath, students with disabilities should have the option of using dictation software for writing assignments, and text-to-speech software for reading assignments.

Day 1's "GIFs of Wrath" activity (assignments for which last throughout the lesson) utilizes various social media sites. The "Life of Steinbeck" activity can make use of a shared digital timeline.

Day 2's "Visualizing the Journey" can use graphic design or visual art software.

The "Podcasting" activity on Days 3 & 4 uses recording and sound editing technology. Day 3's activity "Those Who Stayed Behind" uses PowerPoint or other presentation software, and Day 4's "Point of View Exercise" uses...
