What was the Voting Rights Act?
The Voting Rights Act of 1965 was one of the most important pieces of legislation in United States history. Effectively, it disallowed racial discrimination in voting, something which had plagued the U.S. since the ratification of the 15th Amendment in 1869. More broadly, the Act also prohibited government officials from conducting tests on voters before allowing them to vote and established something called "Preclearence Requirement," among other things.

What was "Free Love?"
Essentially, the Hippie doctrine of "Free Love" said that people should be able to have sex with whomever they wanted and should only have sex with someone whom they are either in a long-term relationship with or with whom they are married.
