The Egypt Game Symbols, Allegory and Motifs

The false eyelashes

The false eyelashes symbolize April's desire to be with her mother, Dorothea. April puts on false eyelashes and an upswept hairdo to imitate the perfect look of her mother. April is unhappy living with her grandmother because she wants to leave and be with her mother. However, April discovers that reuniting with her mother is impossible and instead decides to imitate her taste in fashion.

A-Z Antiques

A-Z antiques symbolize the Professor's connection to the past and unwillingness to accept the present reality. The antique shop belonged to the Professor's late wife. The Professor inherited the shop, but the antiques are old and dust-covered. The Professor does not want to dispose of the antiques because they remind him of his late wife.

The key to the new padlock

The key to the new padlock the Professor gives April, and Melanie symbolizes his acceptance of reality. For the first time since his wife's death, the Professor allows someone to gain access to his antique shop stores. In addition, the Professor starts associating with people, which is a great way for him to move on. Consequently, the Professor starts a new life by allowing people to enter his life.
