The Coming of Lilith is a collection of essays regarding feminism, judaism, and sexual ethics written by author Judith Plaskow. There are several collections of essays contained in the book that try to cover what she is trying to explain, and the first is simply a background history of herself and career up to the point of writing the book. We then begin to see her essays on feminism and religion, and how both of those topics are not fully recognized in society. The book, although full of more opinions that facts, presents an interesting view to how the world would be run if these ideas were set in stone.
The Coming of Lilith was published in 2005 by Beacon Press. The name Lilith comes from a feminine figure in the narratives of Judaism, a religion that Plaskow is associated with. Judith Plaskow was born in 1947, and has studied at many famous universities including Manhattan College and Yale University. She has published several collections of essays, including this one, and co-written three books with others that agree with her on the main topics discussed.
