Darryl

Darryl is the Kerrigan family’s patriarch, and he is unaware that the family land is at risk of being taken by developers.

Sal

Sal is the wife of Darryl, and she is the mother to Tracey, Dale, Steve, and Wayne.

Tracey

Tracey is the daughter of Darryl and Sal. She is also a sister to Dale, Steve, and Wayne. She is a graduate of a beauty school.

Dale

Dale is the son of Darryl and Sal and brother to Tracey, Steve, and Wayne. Dale is also the book’s narrator, and he frequently quotes his father during the narration.

Steve

Steve is son to Sal and Darryl and brother to Tracey, Wayne, and Dale. Steve is a business inventor, and he specializes in fitting tools together to create new things.

Wayne

Wayne is son to Darryl and Sal and brother to Tracey, Dale, and Steve. Wayne is in prison and the only one absent from the family’s chicken dinner table.

Dennis Denuto

Dennis Denuto is the lawyer hired by Kerrigan’s family to protect the family from the illegal eviction from their land.
