Students will demonstrate a clear understanding of the term flashback and apply the term seen in the literature in an in-class model.

Structure:

Ask the class for a definition of the literary term "flashback." From the first seven chapters of The Bell Jar, where does the author employ flashbacks? For what purpose? What effect does the flashback have for the reader?
