The Autobiography of Malcolm X is one of several autobiographical and biographical texts written by and about Black Power and Civil Rights figures. Angela Davis, Elaine Brown, Eldridge Cleaver, and Assata Shakur's autobiographies would be great complementary texts to read alongside The Autobiography of Malcolm X. They feature strong themes of Black nationalism, self-determination, and Black activism in the post-WWII era. Moreover, they also help frame Black urban spaces similar to Harlem and Detroit.
