The Art Of War Irony

The Art Of War Irony

Irony of War

The tactics which have been taught in the book are ironical. As according to one of the strategies of war, one shouldn’t attack the enemy but quietly and peacefully subsume them. The hypocritical attitude seems to be effective in war because if an enemy remains calm, when he sees that the opponents are frightened it would be easy to defeat him. These tactics urge one to cheat the enemy by deploying all the strategies of deceiving the opponents.

Irony of Warlord

One of the tactics of war says that a good warlord never does anything that goes against heavens, but the irony is that the warlord cheats the enemy by employing various strategies and attitudes. He depicts that he has not prepared for war and he lacks the inevitable arrangements of battle. But when it comes to fight, he defeats the enemy by employing all the tactics that he learned during his trainings. The warlord also defeats the enemy by betraying them and subsuming the opponent forces in his own army.

Irony of Tactics

The book states that there should be a proper objective for war, and a thorough thought process before going to war and a good warlord does nothing against heavens etc. But the irony is that the massive destructions, bloodshed and killing of human beings which usually occur during wars are against heavens. These are merely the theoretical tactics because most of the wars which have been fought in the world since ages didn’t followed these tactics. There were no sacred motives behind them. The enemies were killed instead of subsuming them and the warlords didn’t consider heavens before slaughtering their fellow humans.
