Chapter 3 - Landforms - Review and Discussion Questions - Page 165: 1

Answer

Endogenetic forces are the forces that induce horizontal and vertical movement. Endogenic processes are those that occur on the earth's surface as a result of these endogenic factors. These motions, in turn, result in land elevation and subsidence, folding and faulting, and earthquakes, as well as relief characteristics such as mountains, plateaus, plains, and valleys. Exogenic forces and processes relate to exterior processes and events that occur on or above the Earth's surface. Exogenic processes include comet and meteoroid collisions, the Moon's tidal force, and solar radiation. Exogenic processes include weathering and erosion.
