Answer

Ocean Basins < elevation than continents. Crust beneath ocean basin < thick than below continents. Density of crust under ocean basin > than the density of the crust under a continent. Geographically similar features. See explanation for full comparison

Work Step by Step

Ocean Basins and Continents are similar places, however, there are some differences. On average, Ocean basins are 2.4 miles below sea level, whereas continents are .5 miles above sea level. On average, the crust beneath the ocean basin is 2.8 miles thick, whereas beneath a continent the crust is 22 miles thick. On average, Ocean basins have a density of 3.0 g/cm^3, whereas Continents have a density of 2.7 g/cm^3. Ocean basins have volcanoes, deep canyons, plateaus, and large flat plains, much like continents.
