Answer
Friend 1: - "Chemistry is a science that studies reactions, properties of things, chemical processes, atoms, molecules and how they form the universe."
- "A chemical is an artificially made substance, made from the mixture of many other basic substances."
Friend 2: - "Chemistry studies the world we live in, but in a microscopic point of view, and the consequences of these interactions in the macroscopic world."
- " A chemical is a substance made in a laboratory."
----
Friend 1: His answer about chemistry is not wrong, but it is not a general definition like the one we provided in the last exercise. The answers about chemical do not agree with the definition we provided.
Friend 2: Both answers do not agree with the definitions we provided.
Work Step by Step
- This is a personal question, and the answer may be different for each student. Therefore, there is not a correct answer. But, there is an example of how to answer it.
In the second part, you can discuss if the answers were right, and if not, why. (Clearly, however, the answers in the second part are both wrong. Chemicals do include artificially-made products, but that is far too narrow of a definition.)
