Answer

Saturated hydrocarbons have more single bonds between the carbon atoms and do not contain many double or triple bonds. Unsaturated hydrocarbons have at least one double or triple bond between the carbon atoms.

Work Step by Step

Due to the presence of only single bonds, saturated hydrocarbons have more hydrogen atoms present. Alkane is a saturated hydrocarbon. Alkenes and alkynes are unsaturated hydrocarbons due to the presence of double and triple bonds respectively. These have less hydrogen atoms present as compared to saturated hydrocarbons.
