Answer

A physical property is a property that is observed without chemical change to the substance. A chemical property is a property a that can only be observed through chemical change to the substance, thereby changing its chemical composition.

Work Step by Step

Water can freeze, melt, or vaporize but is still water the whole time. These are physical properties that can be observed. Kerosene has the chemical property of being highly flammable, but to observe this one would have to burn the kerosene. Burning would change kerosene to a mix of carbon molecules and water.
