Mendeleev's Periodic table is based upon Mendeleev’s periodic law Mendeleev's periodic law states that "The physical and chemical properties of the elements are the periodic function of their atomic masses". The significance of this periodic table are as follows: 1) In Mendeleev's periodic table, vertical columns and horizontal rows in the periodic table were named as groups and periods respectively. 2) Study of elements were made systematic and easy. 3) The periodic table Mendeleev had left some blank spaces for the elements which had yet to be discovered. Later new elements with properties predicted by him were discovered.
