Chapter 22, Introduction to Plants - Assessment - 22.3 Flowering Plants - Understand Key Concepts/Think Critically - Page 660: 35

Answer

Fruits contains seeds. When the fruits are eaten by an animal, their seeds remain intact through the digestive tract and come out. Usually the animal travels around and may excrete somewhere far from the tree where it has eaten the fruit. When seeds are excreted they germinate to form a plant. Hence fruits contribute in dispersal of plants.
