Chapter 1, The Science of Biology - 1.1 - What is Science? - 1.1 Assessment - Page 9: 1b

Answer

The knowledge gain through observations and experimentation is called science. Science helps us to understand why things happen the way they do in the natural world. In science things are observed and experiments are done to find out root causes of happenings around the world. For example: If disease spreads in the world the scientists start to observe and experiment on different species to find out the cause of the disease and find ways to prevent it. Research on the Covid-19 pandemic and the preparation of vaccines is the latest example of scientific research.
